Week 3: Activity 2

When I was at an adolescent age my grandpa died due to cancer. Due to the fact that I was only three, I didn’t know much about him. However, I pieced together the fact that he was just like me. His passionate desire to ride horses, his ability to never give up and his love for everybody around him made him the amazing person he was.

Week 3: Activity 3

I recently asked my mom about her grandparents. Gert and Marvin Penner were their names. My great grandpa served in WWII as a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy. He served our country and had to be away from his family for five years. Along with being a family man, he loved sports and taking road trips to Las Vegas. My nana was devoted to her family, grand children and great grand children. She was very loving and always there to give advice and listen. An important event that took place in their time period was World War II

Week 4: Activity 1

To dress up my blog for Halloween, I changed my background color to orange since it’s a huge color for the season. Additionally, I added an image of pumpkins to my header to add to the holiday feel. I found the picture of the pumpkin on: https://pixabay.com/en/photos/?q=halloween+background&image_type=&cat=&order= .

Week 4: Activity 2

On the night of Halloween, a girl and her friends ventured out into the dark woods. She heard a rattle in the bushes, but didn’t think anything of it.    They carried on with their business and played multiple games. Shivers ran up the girls back as she felt a hand touch her. When she looked back nobody was there. She told her friends to run home as fast as they could to get help. The problem was they never made it back home.

Week 4: Activity 3

In my community, we celebrate Halloween through trick or treating. Knocking on neighbors and getting sweet treats, is my favorite part of this holiday. The main colors of Halloween are orange, black and purple. Children gather with their friends to dress up and tell spooky tales. Lastly, they watch scary movies on T.V.

My Favorite Time with My Family

One of my favorite times with my family was when we traveled to Mexico on a cruise. Over the summer, all nine of my close family members went on a trip and got to spend time together. All the beautiful sights and amazing food made my body fill with awe. Through the entertaining karaoke, blazing hot sun and the large pool to cool down in we had a blast. These are memories that will last me a lifetime. I can’t wait to go back to Mexico and make even more amazing times.IMG_4089

The Do’s and Don’ts of Commenting

When blogging, stay inside the commenting guidelines. This is important because many people don’t take blogging seriously. Keep these examples in your mind while blogging and stay away from the negative ones.

Examples:

-Politely disagree:

Do: “I really enjoy your post, but…”

Don’t: ” I don’t really like your idea…”

-Use correct spelling, grammar and punctuation:

Do: “Correct spelling, grammar and punctuation are important in blogging.”

Don’t: ” Correct, speling gramer and punctuation are important with blogging.”

-Stay on topic:

Do: “I agree with your post because I can relate to the important topics mentioned.”

Don’t: ” I like your name.”

Commenting on Other People’s Posts

First, I explored Caroline’s blog and commented on her post about how to comment. In my opinion, its presentation caught my eye and her tips are very useful.

My comment:

Caroline, I love your creative outlook on the task. Your post shows that you really understand how to comment. Great job!

Next, I visited Katie’s post about herself and was intrigued by her lifestyle and hobbies.

My comment:

Amazing job on this post! I never knew you enjoyed swimming. Do you take classes?

Additionally, I viewed Mia’s post about how her life differs on the internet. I could really understand where she was coming from.

My comment:

Mia, this is such a thoughtful post and I could tell you put a lot of time into it. I agree, sometimes it’s hard to show emotions over the internet. Do you feel it’s easier to talk to someone online or in person?

Lastly, I opened Lauren’s post that talked about herself. Her paragraph was well put together and her ideas were neatly laid out.

My comment:

Lauren, your All About Me post is amazing. I learned so many new things about you! I can tell you really love tennis. When did you start playing?

My Online World

Similarly to my personality in the real world, when I am online, I like to be represented by a free-spirited bubbly girl. On the internet, I prefer to be portrayed as who I am in person. Through my bright pictures and creative posts, people can get to know me better. However, online I have to be careful what I say or post because not everybody is who they seem. Additionally, online sometimes it’s easier to talk than in person. In my free time, I enjoy sharing my thoughts through social media.
